Traditional Roma dress varies markedly by region and community — from the styles of the Iberian Gitanos to the distinctive dress of Balkan, Romanian and Central-European groups. Cut, colour and ornament all signal where a person and their family belong.

Everyday dress has often blended with local fashion, while festive and ceremonial dress preserves older, more distinctive forms.
