The danced voice of flamenco — percussive, expressive and deeply personal.
Baile is the dance of flamenco, inseparable from its song and guitar. Where the cante carries the words and the toque the harmony, the baile answers with the whole body: intricate footwork (zapateado), sculptural arms (braceo) and expressive turns of the wrist and hand that make emotion visible.
It is improvised within strict rhythmic frameworks (compás), so no two performances are alike. Shaped over generations by Gitano families of Andalusia, baile ranges from the solemn weight of the soleá to the fire of the bulerías.
