Artist, writer and survivor who bore witness to the Porajmos.
Ceija Stojka (1933–2013) was an Austrian Romani (Lovara) painter and writer who survived three Nazi concentration camps as a child. Decades later she broke a long public silence, becoming one of the most important artistic witnesses of the Roma genocide through her paintings and memoirs.
Her work is exhibited internationally and is central to Roma Holocaust remembrance.
